happy halloween

halloween 1999, i am the bloody one... it is halloween...as aforementioned, i still do not have a costume. this is bad, i have always dressed up for halloween. crazy, scary, funny, stupid, bloody costumes, but i dress up! i have some old clothes from the 70's that i can through on. it is good when you can resort to an era of clothing to dress up in.

at least i will give out candy to the little ones...

they said it would rain today. they reported it, i even read it. was it really going to happen? rain in the state of california is a rare occurrence. but, early this morning i could hear a slight tapping on my bedroom window. i sat up in bed and peeled back the curtains, sure enough...wet. the weather had brought about rain. i love the rain. it is great to listen to. i just feel so good.

now, maybe i love the rain because i know it will also go away in no time. don't know if i could handle rain for more than 2 weeks straight. when i first moved to this town it was the worst rainy season califorina had seen in a long time. flooded this area enough that people were jumping from bridges into the streets below that were filled with 20 feet of water. others were jet-skiing down california ave. amazing, quite a site to see...

My visits to seattle have not impressed me with the stories of constant rain. my first visit was greeted with sunny days. the last day is when the rain started pouring out of the sky...bummer.

needless to say the day is off to a good start. although i can’t believe tomorrow is halloween already. i have no idea what i am going to be!

view from treasure island, 24th floori am completely slow today, physically. sleep was not an option this weekend. the vegas nightlife took over. it was fun, as always, even without taking that much money. i did gamble a little. won some lost some. but i actually kept it cool and won more than i lost. it has been one year since my last trip to vegas. it is amazing how quickly things are built. such massive structures there, just designed for our amusement.

on a funny note i went the wrong way on a one way street, first time i have done that. real fun, there were no signs, and i had it in my mind to turn left and that was the only left i saw, wham...noticed the huge blinding arrows in the street pointing back to me...yikes, sharp left, apply pressure to break pedal, slam into reverse, punch gas pedal, apply pressure to break pedal again, through it into drive, and hit the gas pedal to escape certain painful injuries and possible law enforcement engagement.

today was an absolute waste though. left las vegas sunday night at 9pm. took a few hours off to sleep and then headed out on the open road. the sun was up when i drove into the driveway, 7:30am. the dodge....my body hurts, eyes burning.

i need more sleep.

trying to rush to get things done in order to leave for las vegas. that's right. i was able to get most of my work done and head out for a wedding in vegas, not mine of course.

i just rented a car, the biggest they had. a dodge intrepid. it is roomy, but the windshield is so slanted that i feel like i am in the cockpit or a small aircraft. leg room is a plus though. now it is off to the post office to see if anyone paid me. i am not a big gambler, so we are mainly going to walk around, shop, take pictures, go to some clubs, maybe catch a show [not those two guys with the lions!]. fun weekend ahead...

orlimar is nearly completed, i have the site structure and navigation completed. only four pages left to build and it is ready for launch as soon as they send a check!

my week is full. i have a lot of work to complete. keep the coffee brewing.

the wedding over the weekend had a beautiful setting. i always like weddings or events that are outside near the beach or a forest with a stream. this one was buried deep into the mountains of apple hill. there was a stream running through the forest with the sun piercing through the towering trees. jen found a rope-swing and had fun swinging back and forth, until it was difficult to get herself off of the rope. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee she said her dress was about the fall off! i had the camera ready! : ) the wedding itself was very short and was the first wedding i attended that did not have a reception afterward. no worries though, we had a long drive ahead of us.

it's beginning to look like winter. the wind is starting to gust and the nights are pretty cold. i am looking forward to the winter months.

10/20/2001 at 9:14am

off to a wedding today. it's up in sacramento so about 5 hours away. i have been out of town a lot lately over the weekends. next weekend is another wedding, but the great thing is that it is in vegas...vegas baby...the bad thing is that my cash flow will not permit me to do the vegas gig...so i will be in vegas with no money to spend, what torture.

after next weekend though, i have nothing so it may be the first weekend that i will be home. this will be needed.

i slept weird again last night, my body hurts. i need to find out if i move too little or too much. this isn't normal...

check out this recent satelite photo of the world trade center site [ground zero].

this month is going by too fast...

firs, chou get da sugar

what a short week this has been. i can't believe it is already thrusday and that tomorrow is friday [i know that is how it usually works but ya know what i mean...].

i have this sugar fetish as of late. i bought a few bags of these atomic fire balls by ferrara pan and i can't get enough of them. bought them at the dollar tree [what a store] so that makes them even better...sometimes i try to crack them with my teeth which is absolutely horrifying to do because i could possibly completely shatter a tooth [or loosen my dental work]. they are good though and a little hot...but very delish! i hope my teeth don't rot out...wait a minute...

nothing new going on lately. picked up a few new clients over the last week, so that will keep me busy. still doing a redesign of the Orlimar Golf site, which will keep me busy until the early am this week [deadline is 10/26]. i just finished an affiliate program for one of my clients this morning. i gave him a call to explain how it works. he was thrilled, which is good, because more often then not, people are never thrilled anymore, it's always 'oh nice, but can it do this', or 'can i have this instead'...you're welcome.

i seem really bummed latley, lackadaisical sometimes. the trip to sf was fun and really needed, but i still feel like something is missing...i need a change. new toys? new clothes? new night-life? new hobby? more surfing?

well jen and i made it to san francisco without any problems [or at least no problems i wish to share!] she slept for the drive up here, though. the day started off good for a few reasons, the motel we stayed at last night actually had pretty decent coffee in the room - don francisco’s coffee. side note: i used to drink this brand my first years in college...got me through those long nights and grueling mornings!

today we shopped around the warf and haight street. drove around the town, golden gate, the usual. everytime i am on haight street i must have a sandwich at the blue front cafe. some damn good sandwiches there...and sierra nevada is only $2.50! love it! my friend colin and i found it on our trip 1.7 years ago.

we trekked on over to union square and perused an art sale in a park. very interesting artwork. my favorites were done by a gentleman who scratches the image onto a piece of metal then, using acid, burns the reverse onto the paper and adds detail and color with water colors. amazing stuff. one was of a street corner [i always like photos or paintings of street corners, usually with a shop on one corner] and the other image was of an elderly man's hands wrapped around the keys of a brass trumpet [i used to play]. farther down the street was another artist selling his view of the world through his 35mm camera. very nice photos as well. thought about purchasing some of them...but never did...

as always, it would be nice to have more time in the day when you are on vacation.…but tomorrow will allow us to do a lot more! going to ikea on the way back home for sure.

proud?

i am all for people displaying their american flags to show their support for america during these horrific and troublesome times. but what i do hate about it, are two things.

1) the people who are showing their spirit by displaying the flags on their cars, big flags, little flags, plastic sticker flags, flags on poles attached to the side windows. what is wrong with that? ’are you not an American!?’, you say...yes i am…here is what i am getting at - i wouldn't mention this unless it was really bothering me. a lot of these people that are proud to be in america still drive like shit, think they own the road and end up with road rage. twice i have been cut off by a car and truck displaying the flags...then given the bird both times...me? all i did was obey the rules of the road. another time a truck was tailgating the car in front of me, other incident was a bmw speeding in a residential area... it is this blind bullshit posturing that upsets me. shouldn't these people be kind to their fellow man, aren't they stating that we should unite as a country? wtf... instead they act as they always do, flag or no flag, assholes. [i just notice these people with the flags, i see a lot of cars out there that drive just fine. so no, not all people with flags on their cars are like this, just so far i have seen this pattern].

2) the commercials on tv that say 'america, we are behind you... drink coca-cola', 'chevy will help drive you through the rough road ahead'... so you care so much that you want me to buy your product? support you because you care...and drinking soda will help america pull through? it is comforting to know that corporate america is still controlling the marketing machine.

road trip: san francisco tonight...

i have been eating like crap lately...i need to go to the market and buy some real food…eat healthy...i need more energy.

sugar, carbos, fat...coffee...not good [except for the coffee].

looking at stocks today, things are moving pretty well today, solid opening so far. i have a few stocks that i want to invest, some tech stocks, some commodities...no futures. pondering investing in nokia. have you seen their new phone? an mp3 player cell phone combo aimed at the youth market, i don't want it, so am i not in the youth market anymore? 'looks weird sounds great' is their slogan for the new phone...okay...also looking into starbucks [i know, i know but i just care about the price of the stock, it's about money].

lots of work ahead of me today.

frail limbs and other appendages

i don't like sleeping anymore. i haven't slept good in awhile. i wake up and things pop in places i didn't know i had...crack...ping...snap....not sure what the problem is, the bed is comfortable. maybe it is stress...stress is the way our bodies and minds react to something which upsets our normal balance in life...i have had a lot on my mind lately.

i don't toss and turn all night or constantly wake up, i just feel awful in the morning. right now i am slouching in my chair, when i sit up, my back sounds like bubble-wrap.

maybe i need more physical things to do...

i have a deadline for a redesign of a site, i know i will meet the deadline, actually i will complete it before the deadline. however, it means sitting in front of this machine for a few hours straight...must remember to take a few breaks now and then.

10/08/2001 at 9:21pm

i had a great time last night. my friend rob and his wife patty came over for a visit, unexpected, but it worked out perfect. they came over the house for a bbq. steak, chicken, squash, chili, garlic bread, oh, and or course beer and liquor...of course.

i haven't seen rob in about 2 years. got caught up on a lot of stuff [what's going on in his life and what is going on in my life] and as things always go reminisced about the past...my flatmate and jennifer were there too. my flatmate is working out really well. there is always that settling stage of 'is it okay if i...' or 'is it possible...' ya know...but it is cool...she seemed to really enjoy herself too, which is always a plus when your friends are visiting.

i am writing this entry from my laptop at my parents house. arrived saturday afternoon. my mother's birthday was friday and we had a surprise birthday party for her on saturday. invited all of the family and took her to a local chinese food place, she was very surprised to see everyone, it was very cool to see her astonished expression.

our family is quite large on my mothers side [my dad is an only child] 7 brothers and sisters with children and grandchildren and great grandchildren...wow...not all of them showed up, but there was about 45 - 50 people that showed up. great to see everyone again. i hardly see the entire family. we are not very close in that manner, until recently i had not seen the majority of them in 15 years...really...amazing...

10/03/2001 at 1:15pm

decided to drive on over to boo boo records looking for a cd by the band treat her right. this band was started by two guys who later formed morphine. great band!

turns out it is a special order so i have to wait.

very pissed...i really didn't care about my personal site over the years. i had the address www.thegird.net/bmac for about 5 years. so it is out there on the web, tons of people have it, and a lot of people came to see my site never update, but i had good links and photos. now that i have decided to update it frequently with this journal, more photos, and just make it look a lot better...the url is taken down by earthlink....fuckers...argh!

the worst thing is, the url gives you an earthlink start page, as i stated before, not a 404 not found, my web address is in hundreds of bookmarks, web links and search engines...oh well, time to find new people are hopefully the ones that have held on will be able to find me again....
