a heat wave?
the weather was overcast today... completely opposite of monday. no sun at all, not a peep! it seemed to make the day go by faster. i was inside for most of it. getting up at 7:30 today there was a slight chill in the air [mainly because i slept with the bedroom window open]. the smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air while i starred out the back window at the gray covered sky. perfect day to work from home.
i like this type of weather, it is so surreal. objects take on different shades of color, life seems muted, very still... too bad it didn't rain... that would have been terrific. i love the rain. the simple sound of it...
in time the rainy season will approach [which, living in california, makes for a very short season], i can't wait.

wow...it's a hot one today. terrible for a monday. the room i work out of at home is upstairs so, on a hot day, it is naturally the hottest room in the house. i have already been downtown to the office today for about 3.5 hours. it is the old railroad square building in town. it seems to stay pretty cool when it is hot outside due to the bricks really insolating the place.
the one thing about it being so hot is how much water i am drinking today...gotta stay close to the bathroom. which is rough on those 35 minute tech calls...'oops'...please hold...

okay, just got done watching hannibal... holy crap that movie was sick and twisted! right on! really crazy...if you haven't seen it, you have to...just so you know what i [and others] are talking about. i mean it was not near the quality or level of suspense and greatness as the silence of the lambs, but just a fun movie... don't expect to get anything out of it, really. i think it was mostly just the ending that did it for me, otherwise i wouldn't be writing this.
i would love to read the book, but i am trying to finish up the queen of the damned and after that i have glamorama lined up [the writer of american psycho]. then i still have two more vampire chronicles to read [the tale of the body thief and memnoch the devil]. anne rice is good readin'
my book wish list is growing pretty large some i haven't even added yet. i found one today that seems very interesting...the god of small things.

i have a client in los osos [a small town 10 miles from where i live] and i always hate the drive there and back. it is a long drive that seems to never end. sometimes it feels like it takes the whole length of a 45 minute CD to get there. i know people who don't mind the drive, i hate it.
i was driving back yesterday and decided to snap a few random shots out of the windshield of my truck.

the coffee fear
i really love coffee....today I don't feel like having a cup...strange...it is early morning, overcast, a bit cold. but i don't want to make any coffee. i don't have that desire. how can this be?? it will pass. maybe this afternoon. for me anytime is coffee time. most people drink coffee in the morning to get them going. i do that, too. but i also drink coffee because i love the taste. i am known to have a cup [or three] before i head to bed.
this is my favorite blend.

had a late night last night. decided to do some work from the laptop so i could stretch out on the floor. listened to a new "techno-funk jazz" type station through winamp... i usually like classic jazz [davis, coltrane, ellington, basie, byrd, fitzgerald, et. al.] not the crazy new stuff, but i must say this station was "ear" opening... i like to hear new music.
the night turned out great... my girlfriend jennifer came over. she is by far the coolest girl in my life.
