tuesday
i was reading some other journal this morning and saw that the blogsnob link that a lot of people have was displaying this funky huge image. the image was so large that it was screwing up the page layouts. i saw it on one other site and decided to check out my own. here is a screen shot. i really wasn't sure how it happened. even the remarks on blogsnob [which since this morning have been removed] it seemed to be a friend of the administrator jacking with the code...i dunno. it linked to this site: timepasstown.com. whatever...it is fixed now.
since i said i haven't taken very many photos this month, i stopped by this barn that is under restoration. i took a few shots with the black and white setting on the camera with the exposure level set to -1. i like the contrast with the -1 exposure. i know i can make these photos black and white with photoshop, but i like to see what the camera can do without manipulating the actual photos.

monday
slow today. not good for a monday. it is not the day that is slow but
me. recovering from the party on sunday. why party on a sunday night?
no one knows. but they showed up. it started at 4 and i was ready.
people really started showing up around 6. i took some photos but i am
wondering if it is even worth posting them. they don't show much, and i
really didn't have the camera for most of the night. too much drinking
and socializing. maybe i should, since from what i am seeing i haven't
really taken that many photos this month. alright, if you want to see
some of the party
pics.
this is funny!

saturday
i recently had a friend from my high school days contact me. how
exciting! that is what email is all about, getting long distance
messages from those in the past. way in the past in this case. i
haven't seen her in almost 10 years. in fact our 10 year high school
reunion is in augest of next year, 2003. what a trip.
so tomorrow is seth's
going away party, and i finally found out the time and date it
was on this past thursday. why is that a big deal? well, it is
at my house for one thing. nothing like opening the door in
your shorts wondering why all these people at at your doorstep.
oh a party...
found this link for an online magazine about items that people
have found. some fascinating old photographs in there, also a few funny
discarded notes. found
magazine link via david

friday
crazy topic for a friday. but very relevant. today is summer solstice,
the longest day of the year. is it really? went by like any other day. so i was doing some thinking, probably the kind of thinking that einstein did. [yeah right].
i have been saying that time is flying by. well, here is why. i believe
that time is really speeding up. in the middle ages no one lived into their
30's, by the 1800's people were living into their 50's easily.
the theory goes as follows: time has been speeding up so people are
actually living longer due to the increase in the speed of time.
[yes, the advent of antibiotics helps to] overall, when life
first started time was at a much slower rate, therefore people
died at 23 which is relative to us currently at 93. if this
hold true could you imagine how slow our ancestors lives were?
horrible.

photos from colin's graduation on saturday.

saturday
many things to do this morning. first things first, shower....
off to the post office, the bank, the other bank, then head on over to cal poly for colin's graduation. he has labored for many years to get to this moment. way to go!
time is still speeding up, and yet this week i handled it pretty well. i accomplished most of my goals. submitted a proposal for cambria community services district. i hope to get that project. i drove up to cambria to delivery it in person, but the lady i was to contact was out and wouldn't return for a few hours...i always work-in a little 'face-time'. i feel really positive about this prospect.
not much else is going on in my life, just day to day. these past two months have been pretty dry in the fun department. blah...

sunday
saturday jen and i traveled up to santa margarita for her aunt's pot luck/open house. this little town is located about 20 minutes away at the base of the cuesta grade. it is definitely a small town that has managed to stay hidden from big city values and progress. jen's aunt just purchased a home there and is in the process of renovating it.

saturday
great time again last light. started with drinks at the house, which always turns out to be a great thing, and then downtown. slo's downtown is just like a small town, not much entertainment, a few watering holes, and everything is centralized. all the bars are in walking distance from each other, a pub-crawl if you will. so a big night in slo comes from you and your friends making the best of hanging out, drinking and socializing. there are no big dance clubs, which is okay by me. but some people tend to expect that. it is a bit of a disappointment for some of my friends that visit. 'what do you do in this town?' 'drink', i say.
enough about that. you probably think i am a big bore. but i disagree, come for a visit and decide for yourself! your drink will be chilled and awaiting your arrival.
i can't get enough of this song:
In a little while Surely you'll be mine In a little while I'll be there In a little while This hurt will hurt no more I'll be home, love

friday
it is really official now, i moved out of my office. loaded the last of it today.
wrote up an early termination letter and paid the prorated rent.
i have been located in that
building since may of 1998. 4 years. i did leave my two desks behind due to the fact i have no place to store them. besides the architects next door are using it for storage. they let me keep the desks in there for now. plus they are still using my mini-fridge.

wednesday
still hot here. maybe not as hot where you currently are, but hot enough for me. just over the grade in paso robles they are reporting a high of 104. that is why i am staying inside today. i have the ceiling fan on high speed and just broke out a small oscillating fan on the floor. it is this kind of weather that makes me miss a swimming pool.
so i am officially out of my office. moved out on sunday night. crammed all the stuff in the garage. man there is a lot of computers and computer junk. not sure what i am going to do with all of it. especially the desks.
the guy who cuts my hair asks me a simple question. just like any other questions. but this one actually made me wonder about my life somewhat. he asked 'what are your plans for the summer and tell me something exiting.' I couldn't think of anything at all let alone exciting. i am planning on going to san fransico in three weeks. but other then that I have no plans for the rest of the year! hell. i mean nothing....not just vacation or a road trip. sigh. why don't i? i responded with something like i don't have any plans, if something presents itself then i go with it.. that was fucking lame. it is true but it sounds pathetic. maybe i will come back to this in a few weeks and make a bigger plan to do more with the rest of the year.
so with this hot weather the daily blast of hot coffee is a bit much to handle. that's right it is a triple nonfat iced coffee....from where? at home of course!
