the 404 request not found page is often a pretty boring page and will bewilder the web novice. sometimes i design or find some pretty good ones that are helpful, match the site, or display FAQ page, or something less cryptic.

another site posted a link to this site that has the best, all time, top 5, ultimate greatest, bestest 404 page.

http://www.lookitsme.co.uk/404-me

load it up and sit there for a bit...it's interactive.

how come i never thought of this??

In the brown shag carpet of a cheap motel
In the dark and dusty corner by the TV shelf
Is a small reminder of a simpler time
When a crumpled up pair of trousers cost a brand new dime
Well you ask me how I made it through and how my mint condition
could belong to you
When I'm on the ground I roll through town
I'm a president you don't remember getting kicked around
I'm a dime
I'm fine
And I shine I'm freshly minted
I am determined not to be dented
By a car or by a plane or anything not yet invented
I'm a dime
I'm fine
And I shine
In the hiss and rumble of the freeway sounds
As the afternoon commuters drive their cars around
There's a ringle jingle near the underpass
There's a sparkle near the fast food garbage and roadside trash
I'm a dime
I'm fine
And I shine I'm freshly minted
I'm silver-plated I'm underrated
You won't even pick me up because I'm not enough for a local
phone call
I'm a dime
I'm fine
And I shine

i have been wheeln and dealn on the web since ecommerce was very sketchy...did my order go through? did it really work? will i receive the right stuff? will my credit card statement read XXXflicks.com?

my first purchase was a book from amazon.com when it looked like this.

i buy a lot of stuff on line. lots of computer gadgets and hardware, clothes (too many clothes), coffee, eBay now and then, itunes, you name it...i probably have bought it. i also have been notified that my credit card had been snagged from a web host in new york i once used for a client. so i have seen that side too. i use a credit card with a low limit strictly for the web so it was no big. and the bank corrected everything too!

lately i have been using ebates.com. they basically pay you to shop...sorta. basically they have a list of sites (700) you can browse and when you make a purchase can get some money back, free shipping or some coupons. you log in, find the store you want to buy stuff at, click - buy and that is it. the send out a check every month. give it a try you can setup the account for free.

only draw back i have is remembering to log in to the site then go to the store...i get so worked up i just wanna buy in a click! (btw i am in my boxers as i type this).

when i hear bush speak...

i feel a low frequency ring in my cranium...it slowly progresses into a harsh pounding...as if my brain is frantically trying to escape the clutches of a b-movie serial-killer. my eyes clinch shut as tightly as if it is my very first ride on colossus. my hands cup my ears. his banter creeps and oozes through the cracks in my fingers.

i want to find that metronome that syncs his monotone speech and destroy it.

he's not funny.

he bugs.
