is it really this hot?

wow...wrong day to wear a long sleeve shirt...not really liking this heated day.
took the day off from work for most part of the day. walked around downtown: coffee, people watching, book browsing...people watching...
yes it is true, today is my birthday. thanks to my friends out there and i will see you downtown. if you are not local, have a few drinks where ever you are...

thursday
i like it when i am able to create a smile...
went to a new restaurant in town called novo. interesting selection of tasty dishes, although, i have always been a fan of
restaurants displaying minimal items on the menu. the lunch menu is three pages of entrees. too much to choose from... i sense they will scale it done once they see what doesn’t sell. nice atmosphere friendly people. great place, i recommend it. kim took me for an early birthday lunch. thanks kim!
as promised more photos. the sun refused to cooperate today.

wednesday
busy, busy lately! which is good. except that my time management is horrible...i am not making appointments on time, longer than normal tech calls. actually had to deal with that slammer worm on monday. one of my client had some document scanning software that runs a modified version of microsfot's sql server. i wasn't ware of that so never bothered with any sql patches. the worm hit and just flooded their network and brought down their internet connection. called up the software company and they were busy working on a patch. they had one by tuesday, installed it and all is back to normal. i hate when software is hidden in other programs.
anyway staying focused and letting people know i am running behind. some new clients in the works.
more building names and signs around san luis, more tomorrow. [marya, should recognize one photo right away!]

thursday
the moon chasing the sun away. for the past few days the moon has really been bright as the sun sets. a remarkable view.
digital cameras [especially mine] do not take landscape shots very well, too grainy and blurry. however, with the sun bouncing off the mountains and the brightness of the moon, i thought the shot would come out almost as i see the photo in my mind. i was right. completely different seeing this in person.

wednesday
one of my clients lives in a very remote area just before los osos. no paved roads, traffic signals, or traffic. just cows...oh and horses, maybe some roosters too. it is behind the mountain range just before the pacific ocean to the south. with the recent, but short, rainfall the dirt roads were slightly muddy, almost dry from the current heat wave, and riddled with tire tracks making the drive bumpy leading to less coffee in my travel mug and more coffee on my pant leg and floorboard. with this beautiful weather we are currently experiencing [and no break in sight] the camera was pulled from its pleather case ready to snap various photos of the surroundings.
. . . some links for today:
this comforts me somehow do we really need to know what a dog is feeling when they are licking their...

friday
witnessed an uncanny occurrence yesterday with one of the parking meters downtown. walking with colin to get some lunch we passed this dual parking space meter. my eye caught the numbers on the display but my brain took a second to register them. i stopped, turned around and took a second look. both meters had a time of 9:19 on them. they were in sync. also there was no car in either space. in fact there were a lot of empty parking spaces. this was not 9 minutes and 19 seconds it was 9 hours and 19 minutes. that is a lot of change...so i snapped a photo but they had changed to 9:18. there is a sign post up ahead your next stop...

california is so lame, i mean isn't it retarded that flowers are blooming in january? ;)
amazing weather this weekend. warm, clear, and lots of sun. socks and shoes were not an option, flip-flops only please. sorry mid-westerners and east coast folk. i wouldn't trade this weather for the snow storms and floods currently in progress...
some photos taken on saturday to rub it in!
